Urban Lodge Brewery: Reviews & Ratings

One of the few breweries in the St Cloud region. Urban is trying to emulate places like Old Capital with their food. They make a solid effort, and kudos partnering with a former pizza joint to appeal to wider crowds. If I'm rating this against breweries, they get a five considering they serve food on location. Because it feels more like a restaurant that serves beer, Granite-City style, and because every visit has been good, not exceptional, I'll stick to four. Sometimes too much is less.

We got in right away, which was noce and sampled the beer with no issue. Beer was good, we got apps.were.quick and good. The marianra sauce is good but could use some spice. But the regular food took a long time and the pizza was over cooked. As well my burger which I said medium well and it was over done, very well. But was all still good.

This place deserves more than 3.5 stars. We had a great experience. The server was knowledgeable and friendly, the beer selection was great, and so was the food! I recommended their wings and the bootlegger cocktail. They offer a lot more than just craft beer- wine, cocktails, and a full food menu- something for everyone! Highly recommend for a nice evening. Relaxing atmosphere as well. Can't wait to try out the rooftop in the summer. We had an issue with our food order not going through to the kitchen, so we waited an hour before the issue was caught and resolved. The staff handled it very well though and gave us our food for free.

I didn't get a typical dining and drinking experience that a legitimate review deserves. The reason I was here was because my Sister bought a package where you come in and do a Christmas Craft and then have a couple drinks and some appetizers. I did get a chance to see the space, spend some time, and get a taste of the service. Firstly, I think the brewery is beautiful and kind of a novelty in this area. I live in brewery haven NE Minneapolis and I was impressed by the beer selection, creativity, and north woods type grandeur of the space. It was cozy and offered the comfort of being snowed in. My Sister ordered a meat and cheese plate which was slightly uncreative but they enjoyed it nonetheless. We were served some fried shrimp which were salty, punchy, and came accompanied by a citrus aoli that looked like snot. But it tasted good!!! I'm not even mad at the aoli. They gave us garlic cheese bread and it was best summed up as stupid. Over cooked, needed more garlic butter, and needed a marinara that isn't mass produced. The servers were fantastic. Juju was sweet, engaging, and very attentive to the group. I hope to return in the summer and check out the roof top patio. All in all I think this place has so much potential. I just hope the city supports the business so it can thrive.

Stopped in hoping to get a seat up on the patio since it was a gorgeous night - and we were able to. I had the red and my wife had the wit - our go to picks for brew. For dinner we shared the grilled wedge, petit tender, and carne Neapolitan pizza - also our go to food. The beer is great and food has been fabulous and rock solid consistent every time we go. When we are with a group and/or sample other things on our own the food is always interesting and very tasty. The non-smoking and relaxing atmosphere of the patio is the icing on the cake. Also a mention to Gilisa as she's been our server the last couple times and is always on top of things and great at anticipating our needs.

Came here from the suggestion of a friend who lives in the area. The Pesto salad was good, like really good. We ordered a couple apps as we were having a moms night out & wanted to try things our husbands wouldn't try. The scallops were tasty & the risotto was totally on point. We also had the mac n cheese pizza which was super creamy & tasty! If I was in the area I would be back soon for sure! And By the way.. service was super on point. Our sever was very attentive & helpful with the menu. She made it a memorable experience for sure!

I stopped in to Urban Lodge Brewery & Restaurant for the first time on a Wednesday night. They have their own parking lot and it's very easy to locate the place if you've never been there. We were greeted by a very chipper guy right as we entered the door. He seated in the main dining area by the ordering counter. Our waitress was there in minutes and she explained that if we need something right away, to flip our little card to the "red side" and if we didn't need anything, to flip our little card to the "green side." We felt this was backwards logic but we went with it anyway. I chose the Alpha Acid Theory IPA ($5.50) and we got 4 small plates to share. We decided on the Beer Braised Mussels ($8.00), Seared Ahi Tuna ($10.00), Steak Sliders ($8.00), and the Petit Tender ($9.00). My favorites were the steak sliders and petit tender. The petit tender came with delectable mashed potatoes. Holy cow...they were stinkin' delish. Next time, I would pass on the mussels and tuna. They didn't hit the "wow" factor for me. I'm thinking the sea food here probably isn't the best, but no worries, they have an extensive menu for you to choose from. I liked my IPA...I'm not the biggest beer fan, but it paired well with my meal. Our waitress provided fantastic service, and even when we couldn't correctly use the red/green card system (we kept forgetting to flip it), she was very accommodating to us. This place is perfect for a date night or a group of friends to try some beers. If you're craving their food at home, they do delivery too! A brewery that does delivery? It's true!
